OK, Indulge Me

I realize that on a normal day there would not be three, make that four postings in one day. That tells you of my organizational level today. I was going through some of the pictures on my cell phone, you have to clear them off once in a while or you can't add more, and I realized that I forgot I took this picture of Scout in her Easter dress yesterday. Yeah, it is the YoYo in me that wants to show more pictures of my grandkids. Thank you for your indulgence.

Cheesecake for Breakfast

Yes, cheesecake for breakfast. This is Allison's Lemon Cheesecake that is absolutely the best and is my favorite cheesecake in the whole world. She made it yesterday and with all the food we had she sent some home with me. I told her I would have it for breakfast today and I did. That first luscious bite sends an explosion of flavor that is unbelievable. The texture is so creamy. I think the key is that it is homemade from scratch. It was fantastic.

Scare-Flamingos

Gardens always need to be protected from birds and rabbits. Here a group of scare-flamingos protect and guard growing potatoes, onions, radishes and other growing vegetables.

Happy Easter!

Last night after I got home from the Ponderosa I had planned to post some Easter pictures. For some reason I could not get my computer to connect. Here are a few from the very busy day that also included one of the cars dying and having to be towed to the house and picking up the other car. But that is another story. Thanks goes to Uncle Daisey who came and rescued us and is going to work his magic on the car on Wednesday so it is running again. TJ and Allison provided a fantastic fish fry (Striper from Lake Texoma) for what ended up as a very big family get together at The Ponderosa. Jo hunted Easter eggs and played with her cousin Alexis. She and Scout were all dressed up in their fancy dresses looking very much like spring even though it was a little chilly. Everyone seemed to have a great time but I am sure Allison is exhausted today. Most of the chairs in the house were full of rotating people but Uncle Daisey solved that by sitting in Jo's recliner to read the Bass Pro ad. Allison made a Hummingbird cake and if you have never had it, well it has to be one one the best cakes in the world. She also made a lemon cheesecake from one of my favorite recipes. All in all it was a very fun day. Thanks goes to Allison and TJ for putting in so much hard work and for the great food. Love ya'll!

Finished

The On-Line Supersocke 100 Socks in "Afrika" (#996) are finished. These were set aside in all the baby knitting. I really like them and love the self-striping. I have aready cast on two more pair of socks one in Tofutsies and one in Berroco Sox. It is good to have two going at one time. If you need to knit without having to worry about decreasing and picking up stitches then you just make sure one is at a different spot than the other. The "Afrika" socks were made with Yarn Harlot's Basic Sock Recipe. I love it because it is so easy yet if you count the stitches, well let's just say socks are aways a commitment.

Nap Time

I guess I could say that Scout shopped till she dropped but actually she slept most of the trip. Today was the last minute shopping for Easter lunch. The hat she has on is one I made for her before she was born. I used Bernat Softee Baby in #31415, Candy Baby. I used size 6 needles and cast on 72 stitches. It is just the basic roll brim hat but is a nice fit. Love those chubby cheeks.
